I’ve been a big fan of the HBO series, True blood since the first episode. Twilight, however, is not really my thing. It has got to be the whole sparkles thing that turns me off. Despite that fact, I needed a design to cater to fans of both franchises. This became increasingly important with Halloween closing in on us. Something new was needed besides the old Your Costume Sucks design from Halloweens past.

I know a few people that love vampires and I do mean LOVE. They would love nothing better than to bang a vampire. These fang bangers needed their own design and I was more than happy to help.

The idea to turn the words fang and banger into a mouth came to me very quickly. I found a nice tooth-like font and arched the words as if they were teeth in a mouth. The fangs were an obvious addition and that only left a little tweaking of each letter to round them down.

Once all that was completed, the design really needed some blood to cover the tip of the fangs. Somewhere after completing this step is where I was very happy with how it was turning out. Everything was given a slight bevel to make it look a little rounded and 3D.

The last step was the integrate the brand name into the r of banger, but that was really quick. This was one of those rare designs that came out just as I had imagined it, while not taking forever to complete. I’m sure I won’t be the only one that enjoys this one.

There was a time that my main site ( Gabriel Angel Design ) revolved around the 7 deadly sins. I’ve never been very religious, but religious history interests me. I would spend hours watch the specials on the history channel. Each of the 7 sins is as much fun as the next. It has become very easy for me to list them: pride, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, envy and lust. The recent economic times have made Greed a very popular subject in the news.

This greed logo was inevitable. There were designs for each individual sin, but I eventually needed to have one flagship design with them all. It was an obvious choice to pick a Gothic style font. I chose to have the “Seven Deadly Sins” part stick out with larger letters and an off white color. Things did not look right when I had just 1 of each of the sins in the background, so I chose to have multiple instances with a faded silver color.

This all blended nicely with the black background that I had chosen when I first began, but you can’t have a black box with sharp edges. It’s not easy on the eyes and looks really cheap. That’s where the rounded corners came in, problem solved. The last piece was the logo which fit easily in the center margins without taking away from the design.
